Holiday Shoppe & Gift Market

Saturday, December 1st
9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Come spend a fun morning at the Holiday Shoppe and Gift Market on Saturday, December 1st from 9:00am-1:00pm. With help from “Elves”, children (Kindergarten - 5th Grade) may select holiday gifts from $15 and under to give to friends and family. Free gift-wrapping after children’s purchase. While the children shop, accompanying adults may shop with some of our local vendors at the Gift Market. Also, bring your camera and get a picture with Santa to send out with your holiday cards.

To minimize wait times, we ask everyone to sign up for time slots. 35 spots available per 1/2 hour time slot.

ONLY 5 spots are available for walk-ins per 1/2 hour. Sign up for children’s shopping here.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with set-up, welcome table, cashiering, craft table, and clean up.

Thankful Tree

The PTA is growing a thankful tree. Stop by the PTA bulletin board just outside the office and fill out a leaf to let us know what you are thankful for. Or print and color your own leaf below at home and drop it off at the bulletin board.

Family Arts Nights

Family Arts Night will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2019. The Family Arts Night Committee is looking for a few more volunteers to assist with the planning of this event. If you have an interest in art, music, literature or fashion please contact Lori Nuth lori.nuth@gmail.com to see how you can help make this a memorable night for our SCES community.

Teacher Recognition Committee

The Teacher Recognition Committee is looking for a few volunteers to help identify teachers for several County Recognition Awards for this year. These include:

Washington Post Teacher of the Year
Shenandoah University Teacher of the Year (recognizing a Specialist/SPED Teacher)
Virginia School Counselor of the Year

Calling All Parents!

Sanders Corner PTA is looking for a Vice President

The PTA is looking for an enthusiastic PTA member who is ready and willing to become Vice President for the 2018-2019 PTA Board. Duties of the Vice President:

Act as aide to the president
Perform the duties of the president in the absence or inability of the officer to act

If Interested, please submit a brief bio to Toni Hansen at PresidentPTA.SCES@gmail.com or contact her with any questions. Bio should include your work/volunteer history, how you are affiliated with the school and anything else you'd like us to know about you. Also include why you are running for the position. Please remember your bio will be an official document.

Adopt-a-Bed Program

Help keep our grounds beautiful all year round and Adopt a Bed! Work will include weekly watering, weeding, trimming bushes, maintaining tulips in Fall/Spring according to the flower bed you pick. Collect Box Tops for Education

Clipping Box Tops is easy way to help earn cash for our school. Did you know that each Box Top is worth 10 cents?

Box Top collections will be on the last school day of every month. What can YOU do to help your child and their classroom win prizes? Simply cut those Box Tops and turn them in. That’s it! The top classroom and individual collector for each month will be recognized and rewarded!

Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products. Check out the Box Tops page on the PTA website and for more information on Box Tops, including a list of participating products, go to BTFE.com. Be sure to sign up as a member (it’s free!) so you can check out our school’s earnings details and get access to coupons and bonus offers.

Help earn money for Sanders Corner! Register for the Giant A+ Rewards Program to earn money for our school every time you shop at Giant. If you haven’t registered before please sign up. Re-Link your harris teeter vic card!

Dear Sanders Corner Families,
If you haven't linked your Harris Teeter VIC cards, now is the time! We reached our October goal, but we still need more links to help Sanders Corner get the $1000 BONUS. Through the "Together in Education" program Harris Teeter donates a portion of the purchase of Harris Teeter brand products to the school that you link to. Our school code is #5859, and you have to re-link your card each year. Last year we missed the $1000 bonus by just $4. Please sign up and help our school!
